We are pleased to share that Sohei Kimoto, MD, PhD, who trained as an international postdoctoral associate in Dr. David Lewis’ Lab in the TNP, was selected to serve as a professor and chair of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Wakayama Medical University School of Medicine, Japan. After completing his translational neuroscience research training studying schizophrenia in postmortem human subjects in the TNP, Dr. Kimoto returned to his clinical position at Nara Medical University in Japan, where he continued his own research and collaborations with Dr. Lewis. As professor and chair, in addition to managing clinical care, education and research in the department, Dr. Kimoto will also be responsible for mental health policy and human resources for psychiatrists at psychiatric hospitals located in Wakayama prefecture.
