John M. Kane, MD – Gerald E. Hogarty Excellence in Schizophrenia Research Memorial Lecture

The Pittsburgh Schizophrenia Conference is the nation’s longest running scientific meeting devoted to exploring the latest research findings related to schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. Each year, internationally recognized experts provide comprehensive reviews of advances in their areas and emphasize the clinical relevance of the research. This year’s meeting will cover a range of topics, including the relevance of animal models to the prevention and treatment of schizophrenia, new findings in the area of genetics, the importance of early detection and intervention, and the role of spirituality in recovery from serious mental illness. John M. Kane, MD will present the Gerald E. Hogarty Excellence in Schizophrenia Research Memorial Lecture on “Lessons Learned From RAISE-ETP: Where Do We Go from Here?” Dr. Kane is Senior Vice President for Behavioral Health Services at Northwell Health in New Hyde Park, New York. He is Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry at The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He also serves as Chairman of Psychiatry at The Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, New York.
